Sabbatical Training

Michaela’s Take on Sabbatical Training

TYPED by | FILED under Family, Nipomo | Updated October 1, 2022
Sabbatical Training time has included some special times as a family!

Hey everybody, Michaela here! Today I get the opportunity to bring you guys our family’s ministry update!

First off is that as of January 1, 2022 our dad is the official lead pastor at FBC Nipomo. A bonus that came with that, is now Kade and I are leading worship together. This often involves Kade jumping between the piano, cajon and drums, while I sing. (You can check out videos of our services on YouTube if you dare!)

In July of this year our family was given the opportunity to take a five-month sabbatical (break) from ministry for additional training and equipping. This has included not serving at our church but instead going through a replant residency at Redeemer Baptist Church in Paso Robles where my dad’s mentor is the senior pastor. My parents have also been going to counseling, training, and coaching that will help them navigate the next few years of intense ministry here in Nipomo. I have enjoyed seeing the lessons that my parents have learned and new habits they have acquired through these last few months. Them going through training has been a great reminder to me that I’ll never be too experienced in something to learn something new.

In wrapping up this update we would appreciate your prayers for us as we begin to step back into our ministry life at First Baptist Nipomo in December. We are so grateful for the many people who led music and preached in our absence and for all our supporters, our friends and our family that have helped us along the way! We’ll see you all next time!

A quick note from Michael: A huge thank you to some of our most faithful and generous supporters and partners who have stood by us for a season since we began this journey as a family. We could not have done this work or received the blessing of this training the last few months without you. We pray for you daily as a family.
