Incredible and overwhelming joy marked 2024 for our family as we welcomed our 7th (and final?!!) child into our home. Kruz Jordan was born on June 10, 2024 giving the boys a 4-3 advantage over the girls.
We were able to take a 10-day family trip to Kauai this fall which was entirely funded by our children, especially Kade, who plays the drums for tourists year-round at Pismo Beach. Add in a prize of airline miles from Southwest and grandma’s timeshare and you get a trip for which we literally paid nothing out of pocket! See some of our Kauai highlights here.
Three of the kids (Kade, Megan, and Kody) all caught the waves of their lives at Hanalei Bay which brought the stoke level way up! Surfing, snorkeling, waterfalls and just relaxing days was made even sweeter by the presence of our close family friends and church members, the Russells.
19yo Michaela continues her education at cosmetology school and has started saving us money on haircuts already! She finished up some college classes in the spring which enabled her to be hired at our church’s preschool as a substitute teacher and loves both her work with the kids and her cosmetology pursuit.
We’ve officially got two adult children with Madison turning 18 in the fall. She finished her first semester at a local community college in December, getting top grades in all her classes. Her art is at an impressive level which we hope to share soon.
Kade turns 14 at the tail end of the year and played guitar in the band for the community-wide baptism event in August where over 100 people were baptized (including 7 from our church). He leads worship at our church on Sundays and continues his lucrative drumming at Pismo Beach when the tourists are in town. He also led some of his friends to Christ this year and helped baptize them, too.
Megan is 10 and loves to sing and play with friends. She has sung on our worship team and has become an indispensable help with baby Kruz. She also loves taking care of Mindy and Brownie, our two cats.
Kody turned 6 and is loving learning how to read. He’s a fearless guy and super kind to his two little brothers.
Little Ky is now 3 and like a mascot at church or wherever we go. This active boy is a people magnet and his smile will rope you in!
Kruz has been our easiest and happiest baby ever. His birth story was such a blessing with Katie’s quickest labor (giving birth 12 minutes after arriving at the birth center) and so many marks of God’s favor. We love our little blessing and can’t wait to see how God uses him for His Kingdom in the future just like the rest of our kids.
First Baptist Nipomo, the little church God called us to help 4 years ago, continues a slow but steady growth as God calls people to Himself. We love being a light here on California’s Central Coast and seeing God at work all around us!
Some church highlights from recent months:
We had a float in our community’s Christmas parade and were able to share the Gospel to thousands in attendance
Our homeless outreach just hit 2 years old and is now weekly
Our new youth group already had 20 teens at a recent event
We celebrated 7 baptisms at the beach in August
10 new members joined the church in the past month
We are currently looking for more financial supporters to fill in some significant gaps as some of our original supporters have had to drop us. The church finished the year in the black, praise God, but our personal finances are in a pretty desperate need so that we can stay here in Nipomo. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter even for just a year? The returns on your Kingdom investment are immeasurable!
Please see our Help Us page for details on how to help us once or monthly. We thank God for your prayers and support!
