The @surfpastormike I use for social media started with a small youth group I pastored in San Jose early on in my ministry. We played video games together and I only let them call me “Mike” if it was part of my gamer tag, “SurfpastorMike.” Several of those students received Christ, a couple got baptized, and three of them read through the whole Bible with me one year. I may not always be a surfer or a pastor, but I love the “surfpastormike” memories God and I have together from my little youth group of mostly boys from the neighborhood so many years ago. To Him be the glory!
